Mills Park Middle School is a three story structural steel framed building including all classrooms, administrative, and support areas such as food preparation, dining, gymnasium, theatre, stage, and auditorium encompassing 196,600 square feet. With a desire to develop a prototype for Middle Schools that could be efficiently reproduced, Wake County Public School System entered into a Construction Management at Risk contract with D.H. Griffin Construction to build this prototype. Designed by Skinner Lamm & Highsmith Architects of Wilson, NC, Mills Park Middle School will be the second of several prototype middle schools being constructed by D.H. Griffin Construction for Wake County Public School Systems.
